Works of Heart
Role: Founder, event organizer for 5 years, artist.
In 2012 I hosted a series of activities within the design department to get the teams inspired and creative outside of everyday design work. These got progressively more involved, from museum visits to cake decorating and a pinewood derby. I eventually worked with company leaders and started an art exhibit program where any employee could submit artwork to be displayed and auctioned off to benefit Big Thought, a non-profit that funded creative programs for underprivileged youth.
With over 100 pieces of art and event attendance around 400 people we raised over $20k each year to support these programs. Even though I left that company many years ago, I am happy to say that the program has continued every year to this day.
